The LSEF-UMass Scholarship is for driven, passionate and meritorious students who will not only be the best representatives from India but also set their benchmark at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Launched in 2019, this program enables select students to pursue postgraduate studies at the flagship U Mass campus- Amherst.
It is amongst the few in India, to be offered as a grant and not a loan. It highlights on courses that will provide significant global impact and opportunities in combating challenges along with meeting dire needs of the changing world. Scholarships up to 50% of academic tuition worth Rs 20,00,000 each are awarded to chosen candidates*. In the following years, scholarships granted were upwards of Rs 1.2 Crores.
Students in this program undertake two years of post-graduate studies, with the first year at the host institution in India- JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur and the second year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, leading to dual degrees as well as up to 3 years of OPT (employment authorisation) in the United States after successful completion of the program.

RAY LA RAJA

A PhD from University of California, Berkeley, he has a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University and is a professor of political science at UMass Amherst. His areas of expertise include political parties, interest groups, campaign finance, elections, political participation, public policy and political reform.
